This will be achieved with the support of the Ministry for Economic Development (MISE), the Italian Trade Agency and Confindustria Marmomacchine.
Using special funds set aside by MISE to promote major Made in Italy sectors through reference exhibition platforms, Marmomacc (30 September-3 October in Verona) will host an impressive and varied programme of activities and projects including training, debate and analysis of Italy's central role within the international national stone business system.
A special project will be dedicated to Made in Italy: The Italian Stone Theatre will occupy an entire hall to host displays of 100% Italian stone processing technologies and experiments.
Another initiative is the International Stone Summit, the first ever dedicated to natural stone that will bring together the main international natural stone associations and an equal number of trade press representatives from the countries involved in order to develop content and stimulate discussions and debate about natural stone.
This prestigious meeting, from 30 September-1 October, will involve representatives of MISE, the president of Veronafiere (Marmomacc organisers) and Confindustria Marmomacchine delegates who will illustrate the main worldwide sector dossiers and projects developed by the Italian government.
Delegates and journalists will also be among the guests of honour at the Gala Evening organised in the Palazzo della Gran Guardia as part of celebrations for Marmomacc's 50th anniversary.
From 28 September-6 October, Verona will also welcome an important international delegation comprising 100 buyers and 100 architects who will visit the trade fair and visit companies and quarries in the local area.
A dedicated area between Halls 2 and 3, the Stone Design and Stone Technology Conference, will see architects attend professional training courses focusing on the use of stone, while the other participants will be offered specific courses dealing with various machining technologies.
