Data from the Indonesian Cement Association showed that cement consumption in August 2015 was at 5.34 million tonnes, up 14.7% from a year ago.
During the first eight months of 2015, national cement consumption was at 36.4 million tonnes, down 2% from the same period in 2014.
During the period, state construction companies have secured new contracts valued at IDR 48.07 trillion (€2.94 billion/US$3.29 billion), up IDR 34.78 trillion from a year ago.
According to the association, the growth of cement sales in 2015 is projected at 61.08 million tonnes, up 2% from 59.9 million tonnes in 2014.
The country's cement production is at around 65 million tonnes.
Out of the targeted infrastructure spending in 2015, only IDR 90 trillion, or 31%, has been spent as of 16 September 2015.
