Algeria’s construction material imports down

Algerian construction material imports have receded by 27.4% in value to US$1.9 billion (€1.77 billion) and by 4.8% in volume to 8.39 million tonnes in the first three-quarters of 2015 compared to the same 2014 period, thus suggesting that the decrease is more due to a fall in prices rather than a genuine drop in imports. Cement imports have fallen by 21.41% in value to $352.32 million, while they have only dipped by 2.11% in volume to 4.8 million tonnes. Similarly, iron and steel imports have shrunk
