Holcim earmarks five Flanders’ concrete plants for closure

Holcim Belgique, the Belgian subsidiary of Swiss cement group Lafarge Holcim, has revealed plans to close five concrete plants in the Flanders region of Belgium - in Bruges, Herentals, Izegem, Ostend and Furnes. In total, 70 jobs are reported to be under threat. According to the company, this is due to overcapacity in the Belgian concrete market.
