Vietnam: More Indonesian investment on the way?

As part of efforts to increase investment in Vietnam, Indonesian businesses especially state-owned companies are encouraged by the Indonesian government to set up operations in Vietnam. Cement producer 7818 Semen Indonesia is one such company that has already expanded in Vietnam. The company had bought a cement factory in Vietnam and has been producing cement in the country since 2013. Currently, it produces almost 2 million tons of cement for export annually. Overall, there are about 20 to 30 Indonesian companies currently operating in Vietnam.
