A new marketing agreement has been agreed between Redbird and 395 Caterpillar in the Europe, Africa and Middle East region. Redbird, established in 2013, is a pioneer in the acquisition and analysis of aerial data collected by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones.

The company’s ability to both collect drone data and provide analysis of that data using cloud-based, proprietary algorithms offers significant benefits for customers.

Caterpillar says that developing relationships with a broad variety of companies such as Redbird will accelerate its ability to help its customers become more productive, make better business decisions and optimise their operations. “Caterpillar is always searching for ways to collaborate outside our four walls to give our customers and dealers a competitive edge,” says George Taylor, vice president with responsibility for the Marketing and Digital Division.

“By joining with companies leading the way in the digital revolution, we have a chance to positively impact our customers’ and dealers’ businesses.”

John Carpenter, Construction Technology and Solutions manager, says: “This agreement will help create value for our customers.

“UAV data collection and Redbird’s image analytics capability will provide customers with a variety of solutions for their operations, such as material inventory management, haul road optimisation and project progress to name a few.”
