France’s slow recovery for construction materials

According to a report by 1850 Unicem (Union nationale des industries de carrières et matériaux de construction, the French national union of quarry industries and construction materials), sales of aggregates fell 1.2% in February 2016 as compared to the previous month but rose 3.2% compared to February 2015.

In the last three months sales rose 3.5% on the previous quarter but were stable year-on-year.

In the first two months of 2016, sales were down 0.6% year-on-year.

Sales of ready mixed concrete in February fell 2.4% as compared to January but rose 1.6% on February 2015.

In the first two months of 2016, sales of ready mixed concrete were up 0.8%.

For 2016, Unicem expects sales of ready mixed concrete up 1% and sales of aggregates down 1%.
