Russia’s Sibirsky Cement company, Siberia, produced 3.8 million tonnes of cement in 2015, down 11.5% from 2014.
According to senior vice-president of Sibcem, Gennady Rasskazov, the decrease will amount to 13% in 2016, although the company continues to upgrade its plants.
The enterprise produces ten types of standard cements and 13 types of special cements, with the housing construction sector accounting for the majority of the product consumption.
Cement consumption in the Siberian federal district totalled 6.1 million tonnes in 2015, against 7.3 million tonnes in 2014.
In 2016, the cement market volume in Siberia is projected to decrease to 5.4-5.6 million tonnes, but the demand for cement is expected to recover in 2017-2018.
