Highly mobile and efficient concrete-mixing plants have many advantages for contractors involved in key highways and other infrastructure projects, as Guy Woodford reports.

One day, the M11 will be a high-speed Russian motorway. Today, the contractor building the road is relying on a mobile Ammann Elba concrete-mixing plant, said to offer speed when it comes to relocation.

“We acquired the CBT 60 SL Elba because it has several advantages, including its ability to be quickly assembled,” said Dmitry Pop

Amix, a Lancashire, Northwest England-based concrete and aggregates business, has just taken delivery of its second Euroblend Fast Dry 70 Batching Plant, with a further 3rd plant on order for its installation in Wigan.

The company, which operates a total of five quarries in the Lancashire and Cumbria area, produces ready-mixed concrete at its Horwich site near Bolton.

The first Euroblend batching plant is now fully operational and producing ready-mixed concrete for local contractors.
