The fast-developing market in manufactured sand worldwide will be one of the keynote sessions at Agg-intel Europe, the first of a new series of international conferences for the aggregates sector.
Supported and delivered by Aggregates Business Europe, the conference will take place in Manchester, UK, on June 27, the day before the renowned

Manufactured sand is a subject that is attracting huge interest as natural sand deposits located near growth centres are depleted and environmental regulations are tightened.
At the same time, many aggregates producers are studying the possibility of producing crushed sand and addressing the growing piles of quarry waste that may contain saleable fine aggregates.
Taking place just four days after the UK’s EU referendum, the conference will also provide one of the first occasions to hear about the impact of the UK’s EU referendum result on the construction and aggregates industries’ prospects.
James Hastings, head of construction futures for global information services group Experian, will be presenting their latest economic forecasts for Europe’s construction and aggregates sectors.
Experian is one of Europe’s most respected economic forecasters and regularly provides official bodies and governments with market data.
Other speakers to confirm their attendance include:

- Julia Georgi of Strategy&, PwC’s strategy consulting team, who specialises in commercial performance improvement in industrial environment and previously worked at Heidelberg Cement

Purchon is one of the leading authorities on whole life asset management .and the management of complex fleets. Babcock’s customers include Aggregate Industries and Lafarge and Purchon argues that the company’s approach can cut costs by up to 15%.
Subjects on the agenda include the developing market for manufactured sand; big data and the aggregates industry; effective fleet selection; and the latest technological innovations.
Further conferences are planned for Cleveland, USA on October 19, Brussels on November 17 and Hong Kong in the Spring of 2017.
All four conferences are being created and organised by the magazines Aggregates Business Europe and Aggregates Business International, and the website Aggregate Research, under the Agg-intel umbrella.
