A Waste management company in Mid-Wales, UK, says it has ramped up the quality and speed of its recycled products after investing in a new 668 Terex Finlay 883+.

MD Recycling of Ceredigion placed an order for the new plant at Hillhead earlier this year with long-term supply partner Finlay Plant SW.

“The Terex Finlay 883+ has replaced an 883 screener and not only have we noticed a real difference since it arrived, our clients have commented on it too,” says Marc Davies, director of MD Recycling.

“The hourly production rate of the machine is considerably better and its ability to cope with wet conditions is amazing.”

The screener is processing green, mixed inert and builders’ waste, as well as construction and demolition material brought to the site by local authorities and building companies from across Wales.

After being processed through the 883+, the soil and aggregates produced are sold on to farming and construction companies.

Designed to work after a primary crusher or on its own as a frontline tracked mobile screening machine, the Terex Finlay 883+ offers a screen box that features both a 4.8m x 1.5m top and bottom deck, while the increased area of the new bottom deck on the plant maximises the screening of fines material.

MD Recycling, which will also hire out the Terex Finlay 883+, has been working with Finlay Plant SW for the past ten years.

“The machine was exactly what MD Recycling needed and it’s great to see their products have been greatly improved by the new addition,” says Gareth Johnson, MD of Finlay Plant SW.

“The versatility of the plant means it can work with applications including sand, gravel, coal and aggregates as well as demolition debris, topsoil and quarrying.”
