Turkish 2012 cement consumption set to be near 58.5mn tonnes

Chairman of the Turkish Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMB) Mustafa Guclu believes Turkey’s cement consumption will be around 58.5 million tonnes in 2012. He expects sales of the sector to increase by between 4% and 5%.

Volkan Bozay has been appointed as the CEO of the Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TÇMB), the international representative of the Turkish cement sector.

Italcementi’s subsidiary Ciments Francais has reported that it has sold one of its Turkish operations to Limak Holding for €290million. The sale involves the transfer of Set Group Holding and does not include Ciment Francais’s other Turkey-based business Afyon Cimento.
