CDE has announced the launch of the RX80 RotoMax Logwasher as a follow-up of the RX150 model that was unveiled in September 2010. The new 80tonne per hour capacity model is aimed at the construction and mining markets but can also be used to process sand and gravel, crushed rock, construction and demolition waste material as well as a range of mineral ores.
The RX80 has already been installed on a number of projects and is typically employed following initial screening of the feed material - more often than not this is done by our M2500 mobile washing plant," explained CDE RotoMax product manager Kevin Vallelly. "These initial projects have involved the processing of construction and demolition waste material but we are actively pursuing several projects in the ore processing fi eld following the addition of the new model to the range." The RX80 has 118 high cast chrome paddles mounted in a spiral arrangement on dual shafts. The specifi cation of the paddles offers superior wear resistance with a processing life in excess of 100,000 hours, while the spiral arrangement of the paddles has the advantage of reducing intermittent shock loading and reducing the power requirement for the RotoMax.
"The specifi cation of the paddles is key to the success of the RotoMax with the high cast chrome offering more than fi ve times the wear life of other materials," said Vallelly. "The effect of this is to offer operators a much lower cost per tonne of processed material." The RotoMax range also includes a hydraulic clutch as standard to allow for start up under full load, while the fi tting of a temperature sensor affords additional protection to the bearings at the rear of the RotoMax.
