According to
There are three models in the new range - the 21.7 to 23.3tonne (depending on specification) R 906, the 23.7 to 26.4tonne R 916 and the 25.7 to 27.1tonne R926.
Each of the machines will be available as a Classic or Advanced version, an option which Liebherr claims has been developed to meet differing market requirements and customer demand. The 'Classic' versions are intended for typical earthmoving tasks, while the 'Advanced' versions are equipped with a higher level of technologies to make them high-performance 'full option' products.
Liebherr have also revised the hydraulics system on the Generation 6 machines and feature the new Positive Control hydraulic system to coordinate and synchronise the large number of hydraulic consumers. The new Liebherr machines feature two independent hydraulic circuits to improve operation when movements have to be superimposed. According to Liebherr, this system is an advantage when carrying out tasks such as grading during travel.
The new undercarriages on the excavators have a new design of travel gear that also increases performance, according to Liebherr. Compared with the previous models, the maximum travel speed is now 6.2km/h, 17 % higher than before, and tractive effort has been increased by 12 %.
Liebherr also claim that the new crawler excavators perform their operating cycles more rapidly. This is not solely due to the new hydraulic system concept; the superstructure slewing gear has also been improved, with slewing torque up 50% and slewing speed more than 24 % higher. On the Advanced version, the new electronics use the available reserves of energy even more efficiently, with low specific fuel consumption.
