More than 50 3652 Terex distributors from around the world, including distributors from Africa, Asia, France, Norway, Russia and the Middle East travelled to the home of Terex trucks in Scotland, UK, visiting the manufacturing facility where sheets of metal are transformed into rigid and articulated trucks, some of which have payloads of up to 100tonnes.

During the event, visitors were able to speak with key Terex representatives and had the opportunity to see each stage of the manufacturing process, from assembly and painting to fabrication and quality checks.

This transparency of operations was one of the most important aspects of the event, according to Terex articulated and rigid trucks product manager, Scott Pollock.

“Over the years, Scottish manufacturing and engineering has become synonymous with quality and innovation. Bringing our distributors to the site where we manufacture the trucks gave us the perfect opportunity to show them the quality that is built in to our trucks at each stage of the design and manufacturing process,” says Pollock.

“All of our experts were on hand to speak to our customers and address any queries they had. From our engineering manager to the vice president of sales, we all aim to be as accessible as possible. Communicating with our distributors and customers has, and always will be, the most important thing for us and events like these give us the perfect opportunity to meet face to face. Ultimately, we wanted to arm them with the best information possible to help make their businesses more profitable.”

At the event, Terex distributors also had the opportunity to operate the TA300 and TA400 articulated trucks and were given walk-around presentations on both articulated and rigid trucks.
