French National Assembly considers tax on recycling construction materials

The French National Assembly is considering a tax on recycling construction materials. It is unclear whether the tax will be specific and concern products that are not recycled or if it will be a general ecological tax for all products. A major concern is recycling construction materials used for roads and buildings. Some 50% of natural construction materials from quarries are used in building roads in France. The figure represents 200 million tonnes per year. Only 20 million tonnes of the total are issued
