The Beumer Group has celebrated the official opening of the new factory building in Thailand, located in the eastern Chachoengsao Province.

In a festive ceremony, the German ambassador Rolf Schulze congratulated the company on completion of the construction and praised the commitment shown by the Beckum-based family company in the Kingdom of Thailand.

The newly-built premises covering 2,000m² will allow Beumer to increase its production for the Asian market.

Dr Christoph Beumer, chairman and CEO of the group, emphasised that the success of the project should be greatly attributed to the close cooperation of the Beckum and Thailand teams across borders and continents.

Beumer aims to offer more support for customers in this high-growth market and continue its practice of strategic internationalisation.

In Chachoengsao Province, east of the capital Bangkok, the intralogistics specialist has created a local presence with the founding of Beumer (Thailand), enabling a fast delivery of spare parts and optimised service for the benefit of its customers. "I am convinced that, with the construction of a new building here in Asia, we have done exactly the right step to keep up with the growth of the Southeast Asian market", says Dr Beumer.

Peter Weiß, director of Beumer Group company in Thailand, called the successfully completed construction "a milestone".

The building, with a production area and an office area of 1,000m² each, was finished in less than a year. It accommodates 80 workplaces in total.

The above accomplishments allowed the guest of honour, Ambasador Schulze, to remark that the group's success is a direct manifestation of the solid German-Thai relations which have existed for over 150 years.

Other special guests welcomed by Dr Beumer and his father Bernhard Beumer were Karl-Heinz Heckhausen, the president of the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Prachai Leophairatana, CEO of TPI Polene, one of the largest BEUMER Group customers in Asia.

Thailand is among the fastest growing economies in Asia, and the construction industry specifically is experiencing exponential growth which is driving Beumer’s focus primarily on the cement industry.
