Turkey's Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation has fined 53 Istanbul-based quarries for failing to comply with environmental regulations in production. Companies, mainly located in Cebeci, Sultangazi, were fined a total of €424,143.39. A number of companies' operations were also halted temporarily. The ministry will continue with inspections in Tuzla area.
