The second edition of The Aggregates Handbook, published by the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA), is now available, says the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME).
The organisation says the handbook has been the industry's primary source for aggregates technology and knowledge for more than two decades, and the second edition has been expanded to include developments in sustainability, safety, transportation, design, technology standards and industry trends.
SME executive Director David L. Kanagy said: "This handbook is an invaluable tool for all industry professionals, and SME is pleased to add it to our growing library of mining industry offerings for our members."
This essential publication includes topics such as environmental compliance; basic properties of aggregates; industry health and safety; aggregates as a structural product; geology and exploration; product transportation and distribution systems, and quality control, sampling and testing.
