460 Sandvik Construction has said it is supporting the first 7460 bauma Africa exhibition, to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa (18-21 September, 2013) where it will display a cross-section of its equipment ranges; launch new products and show why its African customers’ needs are its focus.

“bauma Africa presents Sandvik Construction with the perfect opportunity to meet with our African customers, introduce the Sandvik offering to companies and individuals lacking familiarity, and vitally presenting the perfect opportunity to launch new products. bauma Africa will thus see the African launch of two exciting developments: the CH550 cone crusher and the DH350 surface drill rig,” says the company.

“The CH550 is part of the new generation of compact cone crushers which provide customers with optimum performance and good cubical shape, while ensuring the lowest operating cost per tonne for a wide range of materials and applications. The all-new patented Sandvik CH550 is based on the proven Hydrocone design, with the CH550 combining the ability to produce excellent shaped products, in fewer crushing stages, thereby making it adaptable to ever-changing customer requirements.”

The new Sandvik DH350 drill rig is a diesel-powered, crawler-mounted, self-contained down-the-hole drilling rig, that has been designed for drilling with 3”, 4” and 5” hammers in the 89–152mm (3½-6”) hole range. Operational productivity, hole-accuracy and drilling smoothness, are further enhanced by a heavy duty rotary head that supplies a very high torque of 2,530Nm, with fuel costs being minimised with two separate power sources. Both these new products are seen to be perfect for the African market, and will be joined with representatives from the other product areas, including stationary crushing and screening equipment; breakers and tools and consumables.

Given the importance of the bauma Africa exhibition to the African construction industry, Sandvik Construction has decided to introduce not only the very latest developments from its product ranges, but also to emphasise commitment to customers and their specific business requirements.

Satu Ramo, global marketing communications manager Sandvik Construction, says: “The Sandvik Construction range of equipment is perfect for our African customers. The ranges enable them to process materials from virgin rock right through to demolition materials, which can then be recycled for continued use. This customer focused approach will see Sandvik Construction unveil some new, and exciting, products and services specifically developed for our African customers, thereby facilitating enhanced profitability, improved efficiency, and minimising environmental damage.”

The Sandvik stand will include interactive presentations and unprecedented access to key people within the Sandvik Construction organisation.
