The agreement between the two companies has been signed and it will provide Sandvik customers in Myanmar with Sandvik crushing, screening, drilling and other associated equipment, but also aftermarket support in partnership with MSP’s extensive network and industry expertise.
The company MSP was established in 1993 as an equipment leasing and supply organisation in order to support Myanmar’s infrastructure construction boom, resulting from oil and gas exploration. The company thus played a pivotal role in spearheading the concept of private companies working alongside state controlled enterprises, as well as providing services to other local entrepreneurial operations.
MSP was, and is, able to provide badly needed services for Myanmar’s construction industry, proving to be especially successful in supplying quarries and aggregate plants with both equipment and support.
Twenty years on from its creation, MSP now operates throughout Myanmar, employing a team of over 500 personnel, who operate out of a network of branch offices and other strategically located depots, focused on providing support to the construction, quarrying and aggregates industries.
MSP services these sectors through two strategic divisions, Quarrying and Construction, which enables the company to provide specialised equipment, support and services, to what are in effect, young and developing industries.
Having played such an important role in helping the development of the commercial construction and quarrying sectors within Myanmar, MSP’s appointment by Sandvik Construction as its distributor is highly significant, says Sandvik Construction..
The formal distributor agreement between MSP and Sandvik was signed at a ceremony where MSP was represented by its managing director, Mr Khin Maung Htwe, while Mr Kwan Kin Hoi, vice president Sandvik
Construction South-East Asia, signed the agreement on behalf of Sandvik.
