Revader Totem PTZ cameras have been installed by Sabre Security Systems, after receiving a contract at eight quarries run in the UK by 1343 Hanson, a part of 674 HeidelbergCement Group.

The cameras have 36 x optical zoom; can be rapidly re-deployed; can be remotely controlled, and the detail of any activity can be tracked. The camera, when not remotely controlled, can be pre-set to 128 positions. The camera is ideal for quarries due to its rugged construction.

The day/night functionality allows capturing monochrome images at 0.01 Lux and images in low light of 0.07 Lux.

Totem PTZ uses the Linux based Wavestore video management and recording software and comes with a choice of 3G, WiFi and Ethernet connectivity. On detection of an external intruder, when the quarries are not operating, live images are sent to a call centre from where an authorised key holder can be notified after verifying intrusion. With the help of the Wavestore software, the recorded videos can be remotely retrieved.
