Russian cement rail shipments in North-West in 2013

An analysis of cement rail shipments in the North-Western federal district of Russia reveals that St Petersburg was the district's leader in cement consumption in 2013. Eurocement Group accounts for 70% of cement supplies in the city, while foreign producers supplied 22% (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus). An analysis of cement rail shipments in the North-Western federal district of Russia reveals that St Petersburg was the district's leader in cement consumption in 2013.

3704 Eurocement Group accounts for 70% of cement supplies in the city, while foreign producers supplied 22% (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus). In the Leningrad region, a third of cement was supplied by foreign producers, while Eurocement Group supplied 59%

Eurocement Group also captured almost 100% of the cement market in the Republic of Karelia, the Arkhangelsk region, the Novgorod region, and the Murmansk region. The group also supplied 67% of cement consumed in the Vologda region, whereas Mordovcement supplied 21%.

In the Pskov region, 60% of cement supplies was captured by foreign producers followed by Eurocement Group (38%). The latter also supplied 36% of cement consumed in the Republic of Komi, whereas Vorkuta cement plant (Northern Cement Company) supplied 26%, while 96% of cement supplies in the Kaliningrad region were done by foreign producers (Lithuania 74%, Poland 21%, Belarus 1%, and Latvia 1%).

There are six cement plants in the North-West: Pikalyovskiy Cement and Savinskiy Cement Plant (both belong to Eurocement Group); Cement (3777 LSR Group); Slantsy Cement Plant 3803 Cesla (part of 674 HeidelbergCement); Northern Cement Company, and Metakhim.
