Holcim to acquire U.S.-based OX Engineered Products

Cemex Vertua used to fortify major wastewater treatment plant in San Francisco

More than US$3 billion was invested in modernising the ageing plant to reduce odours, better prepare for earthquakes and rising sea levels, ensure operational reliability and efficiency, and maximise biogas utilisation. Built in 1952, the SEP treats 80% of the City's sewage and stormwater flows. Cemex provided about 50,000 cubic yards of Vertua concrete to help fortify and renew the plant.

ABC: US construction employment increased by 25K in September

The American construction industry added 25,000 jobs on net in September, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of new data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. On a year-over-year basis, industry employment is up by 238,000 jobs, an increase of 3%.

ABB & Carbon Re agree joint approach to enhance low-carbon cement production with artificial intelligence
