Sales of cement by 17 listed companies in Saudi Arabia increased by around a third in the first three months of 2020, compared to the same period of 2019.
In March 2020, sales amounted to 5.34mn tonnes - up 34% year-on-year. Sales in February 2020 increased 35.3% to 4.78mn tonnes, while in January 2020, sales went up 30% to 4.8mn tonnes.
Increased Saudi Arabian cement sales are being attributed to an increase in projects, particularly within the housing sector.
