The event was due to take place on 14-17 April 2021 at the MHI stone quarry site in Nieder-Ofleiden, Germany, having already been put back from its originally planned date of August 2020.

Organisers say that measures that have been implemented relating to the Covid-19 pandemic do not make it possible for the tri-annual trade fair to now take place this September.

Dr. Friedhelm Rese, managing partner of the trade fair organiser Geoplan, commented: “It is really not easy for us to take this step. We fought to the end, continued to improve our hygiene concept and received a lot of encouragement from the exhibitors.

"It's about the safety of everyone involved and that of the visitors," he added.

Rese said that an exact date will be announced for the rescheduled September 2023 event as soon as possible.
