Rt Hon Dame Rosie Winterton MP has visited
Dame Rosie, who was elected as deputy speaker of the House of Commons in 2017, visited the site in Doncaster to take an exclusive tour of the brand new facility and learn more about the company’s pioneering Express Asphalt service.
With a growing appetite for coloured asphalt across the UK, the new facility is part of Aggregate Industries’ wider scheme to expand SuperColour supply across the UK due to soaring demand for coloured asphalts in recent years, following greater use in private drives, bus lanes, cycle lanes, sports landscaping, parks and natural areas.
The highly-successful visit also involved an engaging discussion between Dame Rosie and key Aggregate Industries’ staff such as Dave Shaw, area manager and national program lead for Express Asphalt, on significant issues including local businesses, roads and the Managed Aggregate Supply System.

Dame Rosie added: “The role that the road network plays in boosting economic activity and tackling issues surrounding congestion is integral to businesses and the local community alike. I’d like to thank Aggregate Industries for inviting me to visit their Doncaster Express Asphalt site. It was a brilliant opportunity to tour the site which plays an important role in supporting contractors and the Council to obtain local materials for the road network as well as specialist coloured asphalt needed on prestigious contracts , especially when constructing bus lanes and cycle highways.
Aggregate Industries Express Asphalt sites include a ‘click and collect’ service with a guaranteed turnaround of 30 minutes for single loads of standard products, which enables busy customers to order asphalt, or tools and equipment, and pick it up from any one of the business’ 40 Express Asphalt depots nationwide, including the Doncaster plant.
