In November 2013, FLSmidth signed a number of contracts with the Nigerian cement producer Dangote Cement for operation and maintenance of production lines at their Ibese and Obajana cement plants in Nigeria for a period of five years.

Due to changed market conditions, Dangote Cement and FLSmidth have reached an agreement to end the operation and maintenance collaboration on the two plants.

The discontinuation of the O&M contracts will have no impact on FLSmidth's Group guidance for 2015.

The creditor banks of Sacci, the Italian cement manufacturer, are reported to have rejected the 99.5% acquisition bid launched by Buzzi Unicem, the other leading Italian cement maker. The €120 million offer had been accepted by Sacci.

Asia Cement posted a 15.8% on-year drop in its January-March 2015 revenue to CNY 1.35 billion (€194.71 million/US$217.10 million).
Also, the Taiwan-based company reported a 99.97% decline in its profit to CNY 37,000 (€5,344.33/$5,959.07) during the quarter.

Sales of cement maker Holcim Indonesia declined by 4.5% from a year ago to IDR 2.25 trillion (€154.76 million/US$173.11 million) in the first quarter of 2015.
Cost of sales for the company under the Holcim Group of Switzerland expanded by 3% to IDR 1.72 trillion.
Its net income decreased from IDR 323.60 billion to IDR 32.70 billion due to increasing costs and lower demand.

The Irish international building materials group, CRH, says it expects further progress in the second half of 2015, with group EBITDA from continuing operations in H2 expected to be ahead of 2014.
