The American Concrete Institute (ACI) is offering an on-demand learning course focusing on ACI 318-19, Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete and Commentary.
The institute says the ACI 318-19: Changes to the Concrete Design Standard covers the major changes in the 2019 edition of ACI 318-19. All major changes in this edition of the code are presented and discussed.
This includes major changes surrounding the topics of higher reinforcing steel yield strengths for applications and the associated design provision changes, the addition of shotcrete provisions, deep foundation provisions, seismic requirements for deep foundations and other applications.
The new ACI 318-19 Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete contains more than 100 additional pages of provisions compared to the 2014 code. It now contains full colour three-dimensional illustrations to improve clarity as well as a consistent style to increase the confidence of engineers in satisfying all necessary code requirements, ACI adds.
