The American Concrete Institute (ACI) is to host the Understanding ACI 318-14 Building Code Requirements training session in Dubai on 7 January 2019.
ACI says the rapid construction growth in the Gulf region has led to an increase in the use of ACI 318 and acknowledgment that it is an essential standard concerning the design of reinforced concrete structures.
The one-day training session will review the current edition of the ACI 318, Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete (ACI 318-14) and help familiarise attendees with the organisation. Design examples will be used to demonstrate the use of the code and introduce the ACI design requirements for use in seismic regions.
Randall W. Poston, Ph.D., P.E., ACI vice president and past chair of ACI Committee 318 and Matthew Senecal, P.E., ACI director of engineering will lead the training. Attendees will be able to ask in-depth questions about the building code requirements and see applications on it used in practice.
Those interested in attending the course are encouraged to register online before 19 December.
