March 16, 2018

Concrete Maker Metromont is shutting down its northeast Charlotte plant following the company’s $8.8m investment to expand its Greenville operations – according to a report by The Charlotte Observer. The closure will lead to a loss of 72 local jobs.

In a statement, Rick Pennel, CEO of Metromont, confirmed that the closure is a necessary transition for the company's long term success.

The facility’s closure will open up 18 acres along the Blue Light line rail extension on the East Sugar Creek Road.
