Cat prepares for Operator Challenge Final 2014

From 22-25 September 2014, the Caterpillar Visitor and Learning Centre in Leicester, United Kingdom, will become the stage for a major international competition in which construction machinery operators from Europe, the Middle East and CIS will battle it out in what has been dubbed the toughest operator competition on earth: the Cat Operator Challenge, the 11th such competition.The last one was held in 2008 in Malaga, Spain.

From 22-25 September 2014, the 395 Caterpillar Visitor and Learning Centre in Leicester, United Kingdom, will become the stage for a major international competition in which construction machinery operators from Europe, the Middle East and CIS will battle it out in what has been dubbed the toughest operator competition on earth: the Cat Operator Challenge, the 11th such competition.The last one was held in 2008 in Malaga, Spain.

The competitors’ skills will be tested and scored across a range of equipment, from Cat mini-excavators to articulated trucks, and the finest operators from Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom, first compete in qualifying local and national events.
This time, the qualifying heats are tougher than ever and only the top 30 operators from the 12 participating countries will reach the finals in Leicester where their skills in safety, accuracy, versatility and use of technology will be put to the test.

“The Cat Challenge is a celebration of the great precision and skills operators demonstrate. As part of the competition, operators will use technology solutions that help boost work site efficiency together with the latest Cat models. They will show why they are the best in a final that promises to be very exciting,” said Herwig Peschl, Caterpillar Construction Industries global marketing manager.
The Cat Operator Challenge Winner 2014 for Europe, Middle East and CIS will be presented with the prize of a new Cat 300.9D mini-excavator.
