Nigel Jackson, Chief Executive of the Mineral Products Association (MPA) has responded to announcements made by the UK Department for Transport about truck safety and cycling,

He said: “MPA welcomes in principle the announcements made by the Department for Transport today to improve the safety of cyclists and other road users and looks forward to seeing the detailed proposals to ensure that there are the necessary checks and balances and that responsible operators are supported.

Africa’s richest man, Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote has said he will invest $400 million to build a cement plant in Kenya., the Daily Nation has reported.

Dangote said that his Lagos-listed cement company, Dangote Cement, would start construction of a 2 million tonne-capacity cement factory within the next few months.

Teaming up with building materials company Cemex in its national partnership, the RSPB asked quarry managers to complete a survey of the birds of prey they see at their sites.
