PHS Besafe has won the contract to supply protective workwear for
Aggregate Industries quarries, manufactures and supplies a wide range of building materials, from concrete and asphalt, to stone and cement. It employs more than 4,000 service personnel across 200 sites throughout Northern Europe and the Channel Islands.
PHS Besafe entered into a trial period with Aggregate Industries to provide services to two of its most challenging depots.
With more than 15 years’ experience of providing workwear supply and laundering services, it was able to practically assess the company’s requirements and match the most appropriate range to each environment.
This included supplying flame retardant garments for welders and specialist arc protective clothing for electricians. PHS Besafe’s team also instructed Aggregate Industries staff in the laundering process to increase the lifespan of the garments and ensure that they remained fit-for-purpose.
Over the two-year trial period, PHS Besafe was able to demonstrate tangible benefits, and the company is now the mandatory supplier for all Aggregate Industries’ sites and is responsible for providing, laundering and maintaining up to 20,000 garments on a weekly basis.
Tony McGovern, PHS Besafe’s Commercial Manager, said: “We are delighted to be working with Aggregate Industries to provide their protective workwear. Aggregate Industries knows that it can rely on us and that our expertise can save them a significant amount of administration time. Working in this industry is about keeping people safe while they are at work and we have a team of dedicated people who work really hard to do that.”
