The Turkey-based consortium Dal Engineering Group and the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Company (MMC) has signed an agreement on construction of a cement plant in the Surxondaryo region.
According to preliminary information, its capacity will total up to 1.5 million tonnes of Portland cement/year.
The investments are estimated at some US$225 million (€208.94 million). Of that amount, about $90 million will be provided by the Uzbekistan Fund of Reconstruction and Development and US$24.4 million by t

Loans of about $110 million will be raised in the county's commercial banks. The plant is scheduled to launch in 2018.
