China-based Citic Heavy Industries has won an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to build a cement plant in the Cambodian city of Kampot. Once completed, the plant will have a daily output of 5,000 tonnes - creating the largest single cement production plant in the country. The project is a joint venture between Thailand-based Siam City Cement Public Co Ltd and Cambodia-based Chip Mong Insee Cement Corp (Insee Cement).
