For UK recycling, plant hire and crusher and screener specialist Paul Chapman and Sons (PCS), the best things come in threes -  having purchased a third Bucket Bundie refuelling solution.

Exclusively manufactured in the UK by ACE Plant, the Bucket Bundie is an innovative bunded fuel tank that can be easily picked up and moved around site in the bucket of a wheeled loader or telehandler.

Having originally bought a conventional 1,000litre capacity static Bundie Bowser from ACE Plant in 2014, county Leicestershire, England-based PCS boss Paul Chapman says he subsequently discovered the extra advantages of the Bucket Bundie version. He says he quickly appreciated how it could speed the refuelling of his tracked crushers and screeners working remotely in quarries and recycling operations. Good experience with two 1,000litre capacity Bucket Bundies has led to the latest purchase of a larger 2,250litre capacity unit that is moved around rough sites safely in the bucket of a 473 Volvo L150F wheeled loader.

The award-winning Bucket Bundie was invented by practical plantman Mick Tye back in 1998. It features a patented bucket loading system with special slots above the support legs that allow a wheeled loader operator to easily pick up and move the bowser using the machine’s front bucket.

With the loader bucket crowded back, the Bucket Bundie is held securely for safe transport across rough sites to the machines that need to be refuelled. The combination is said to work much better than using a towed fuel bowser which can be difficult to move and reverse – particularly on rough terrain.

Paul Chapman says: “The Bucket Bundie is a really good bit of kit. It saves a tremendous amount of time on site as fuel can quickly be taken directly to our tracked crushers and screeners wherever they are working.”
