Cemex Poland is supplying concrete for a new power unit

643 Cemex Poland is contributing to the construction of a new power unit in the Turow Power Plant, located in south-west Poland.

Cemex Poland is expected to provide approximately 90,000m³ of concrete for the project, and has already delivered over 15,000m³ of tailor-made concrete for the foundation of the power station, which required approximately four days (101 hours) of continuous pouring.

Cemex Poland erected two mobile concrete batch plants with a capacity of 160³ of concrete/hour to meet the demands of this job. Of the 90,000m³ of concrete that Cemex is expected to provide for this project, 25,000m³ are required for the foundations of the power station, and 15,000m³ are needed for the construction of the cooling tower.

“This type of project exemplifies Cemex’s capability to provide superior tailor-made solutions for our clients, while addressing the health and safety of our team,” says Slawomir Dobrowolski, head of the Mobile Ready-mix Plants Division of Cemex Poland.

“High health and safety standards, including frequent periodic safety training for employees, special documentation, and daily safety checks, were applied on site to enable safe working conditions, an absolute priority for this large and challenging project.”
