A Chicago Pneumatic RX46 breaker excavates rock in Malta
The RX46 breaker from 5517 Chicago Pneumatic is being used by 7567 Ballut Blocks, one of Malta’s largest civil engineering contractors, to meet challenging productivity targets on the project, which involves the excavation of 1 million m3 of rock over a period of four years without the use of explosives.
With a service weight of 3,000kg, the RX46 breaker is one of the largest ever used on the Mediterranean island of Malta. It was supplied by Swaey Bros, a company that has been Chicago Pneumatic’s sole distributor in Malta for many years and has wide experience in selling and supporting equipment used in the civil engineering sector.
CP says the RX-series breakers’ power boost feature harnesses recoil energy for enhanced breaking without additional hydraulic input.
