LafargeHolcim gains approval for simplified Group structure in India

LafargeHolcim has received the approval of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs for the streamlining of its ownership structure in India. The transaction has already been approved by all other stakeholders including the independent directors, minority shareholders, the Securities and Exchange Board of India, stock exchanges and respective High Courts in India. Sandvik signs agreement to divest its Mining Systems operations

Sandvik has signed an agreement to divest its Mining Systems operations to the private equity company CoBe Capital. The Swedish mining, quarrying and construction equipment manufacturing heavyweight says it will maintain ownership of ongoing projects which are close to finalisation.

The closing of the transaction is expected during Q4 2016, subject to the satisfaction of certain conditions precedent. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Breedon Aggregates see pre-tax profits rise 19% in H1 2016

Breedon Aggregates, the UK’s largest independent aggregates business, saw its profits before tax rise 19% year-on-year in H1 2016 to £20.9 million (£17.5 million H1 2015).

Revenues were up 2% to £163 million (£160.5 million H1 2015); and underlying EBIT was up 21% to £22.8 million (£18.9 million H1 2015). Volvo excavator package for Advance Construction

Blantyre-based Advance Construction Scotland has bought a package of 53 Volvo excavators, which are all incremental to the company’s fleet of in excess of some 200 machines.

The latest package of machines includes two EC160Es; five EC140Es, 18 ECR88D reduced swing machines mounted on city pads; 18 EC55Cs and ten EC35Ds.

Magna tyres mounted Indonesian truck

A leading cement company in Indonesia recently mounted Magna 27.00-49 MB440 tyres on its trucks.

The company says it uses only BIAS tyres due to the rough terrain it is operating in, with only a short distance to cover.

The BIAS MB440 is especially designed for operating on rock, coal and earth where serviceability and cutting are big problems.
