Cat upgrades offering

Caterpillar has unveiled its new B Series articulated dump trucks, which it claims improves comfort, efficiency and productivity. The new models are the 753B, 740B and an ejector body model, the 740B EJ and are the first major upgrades since the company launched 700 series range in 2000. The machines are being built at Cat's Peterlee factory in the north east of England and tested in the nearby West Cornford Quarry, which Cat bought 16 years ago as a proving ground after all consented reserves were extracte

Environmental enhancement

Sandvik claims that its new Compressor Management System (CMS) will help customers to save money and reduce their impact on the environment during blast hole drilling operations. The new system carefully manages the volume of air required at all times, so that the compressor only runs at full volume when needed. The company has said that this allows full productivity but with lower fuel costs and reduced emissions
