DiPerk has been appointed as the distributor for Perkins engines in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Magna Tyres Group is launching a new tyre designed for rigid dump trucks operating in demanding off-the-road (OTR) conditions.

The company says the M-RIGID is suitable for modern rigid dump trucks (RDTs) such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Terex and Hitachi. It will be available from May 2019.

The product is a radial constructed 27.00R49 / 33.00R51 / 40.00R57 earthmover, with an E4 tread pattern. It is designed to offer optimal tyre performance/purchase price, resulting in a low cost price per hour.

US company Argonics has launched new technology for OTR (off the road) tyres that is designed to protect sidewalls from punctures and other damage in harsh quarrying environments.

German off-highway diesel engine manufacturer Deutz has issued a statment supporting the change of ownership at its parts suppiler Neue Halberg Guss.

It made the statement after it was announced that investment group AVIR Guss Holding has signed an agreement through its subsidiaries Gusswerke Saarbrücken and Gusswerke Leipzig to take over the business operations of Neue Halberg Guss. No details on the purchase price were given.

Retread tyre suppliers Marangoni and Borrachas Vipal have announced a strategic partnership agreement aimed at increasing the synergies and productivity, strengthening the industrial and commercial organisation of both groups.

The two companies claim the new partnership will lead to "the creation of the largest global independent player in the tyre retreading sector."

The cooperation between the pair will be developed in 2019, with the first phase involving activities in the Americas.

OTR (off the road) tyre specialist Magna Tyres Group has expanded capacity at its Hardenberg plant in the Netherlands for the second time in three months.

Following the increase in capacity for the 26.5R25 and 29.5R25 product lines announced in August, production will now rise to 7.000 tyres in the 17.5R25, 20.5R25 and 23.5R25 tyre ranges in 2019.
