The Arizona Rock Products Association (ARPA) has awarded Cemex six 2017 Safety Awards for safety practices at ready-mix and aggregates operations across the state. Additionally, David Carter, Cemex’s safety manager for Country Arizona has been named Safety Professional of the Year.
Cemex operations in Southern Arizona came first for safety against other ready-mix and aggregates facilities between 200,000 and 299,999 work hours in 2017. These endeavours in the region also received a certificate from ARPA for zero safety incidents in 2017.
The company's operations in Western Arizona earned for place in its division of facilities with 50,000 to 199,999 work hours as well as a certificate from ARP for zero safety incidents last year.
In Phoenix/Northern Arizona, Cemex’s operations came second for operations with more than 600,000 work hours in 2017.

Alan MacVicar, Cemex USA’s vice president of health and safety, commented on Carter’s Safety Professional of the Year award.
