Cemex's cement plant in Clinchfield, Georgia, earned the PCA Chairman’s Safety Performance Award along with the cement plants in Demopolis, Alabama, and Victorville, California.
President Ignacio Madridejos. “We are constantly striving to improve safety, taking care of one another and looking for ways to do things better. These plants are to be commended for their commitment to safety, and we’re proud to have them leading the way in the industry.”
Additionally, the company's cement plant in Lyons, Colorado, received the PCA’s 2019 Energy & Environment Award in the Outreach category, which recognises activities that enhance relations with the plant’s community, employees, and local government. The plant routinely holds activities to actively engage its neighbours, developing partnerships to foster local relationships and support sustainable collaborations within the community.
“Our cement plants are parts of the communities where they operate, and at Cemex, we work to operate responsibly and with respect for the environment,” Madridejos said.
