Cemex has won five awards at the Portland Cement Association (PCA) Fly-In event in Washington DC. This recognition, according to Ignacio Madridejos, Cemex USA’s president, shows the company’s commitment to operating safely in an environmentally-responsible manner.
The company’s Clinchfield Cement Plant earned the 2018 PCA Chairman’s Safety Performance Award for its outstanding safety performance.
Additionally, Cemex's Kosmos cement plant in Louisville took the PCA Energy and Environment Award for Land Stewardship for outstanding environmental and community relations efforts.
The Miami and Brooksville cement plants both received PCA Safety Innovation Awards. A third award in this category was won by the company in the pyroprocessing category for creating a program that uses drones for visual inspections of preheater towers, silos and other enclosed areas.
