JCB has included a canopy option available for its Skid Steer and Compact Track Loader to provide a rugged alternative to the current positive-pressure, climate-controlled cab. Both options are said to provide a 33% larger operator environment and 60% better visibility than comparable machines.
Teleskid is designed with the intention of combining the advantages of radial lift and vertical lift into a single solution. The wheeled model comes with a rated operating capacity of 3,208 pounds and the tracked version features a rated operating capacity of 3,695 pounds.
The machine has a telescopic Powerboom with a lift height of 13 feet 3 inches, forward reach of eight feet and dig depth of three feet. It can load high-sided trucks without a ramp, reach across a standard flatbed trailer and dig ditches.
Randy Tinley, JCB product manager for skid steer and compact track loaders, said: “Teleskid is driving demand from rental customers because it allows them to be more productive and to perform tasks that are not possible with conventional skid steer machines. This new canopy option provides rental operators with the machine capabilities their customers want, in a configuration that has the potential to drive down ownership costs and improve machine availability.”
