Volvo Construction Equipment has opened a distribution centre in Toronto, Canada, which it says will allow the company to deliver critical parts in most major markets within 24 hours.
Stephen Roy, president, sales region Americas, says the opening of the centre is part of a strategy to improve uptime across Canada and North America.
“It shows Volvo CE’s commitment to provide our customers with premium machines and premium aftersales services,” Roy adds.
Volvo Service Market Logistics is operating the centre to provide parts to dealers and business areas such as Volvo Trucks.
Oliver Nachevski, vice president and chief operating officer for Strongco, a Volvo CE Canadian dealer, says: “This Canadian parts distribution facility gives our Strongco customers improved access to critical Volvo OEM parts inventory on this side of the border.”
The 181,000 ft2 centre serves a replacement to a regional parts depot in Toronto.
