The World Cement Association (WCA) has added US-based Royal White Cement as a corporate member to its global network. The move is intended to promote and strengthen the goals of the global cement industry.
Marcel Fadi, CEO and president of Royal White Cement, says: “As the international cement market continues to evolve, with emerging markets in particular becoming more influential in the global ecosystem, there is a clear need for a worldwide organisation to represent the sector as a whole and bring together players from all across the globe.”
Royal White Cement is a Houston-based firm which has an annual capacity of 500,000 tonnes and seven locations in the US. White cement can be used instead of grey cement for its heat-reflecting properties is said to benefit countries with hot climates.
