Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) reports that its Construction Backlog Indicator increased to 8.9 months in April from 8.7 in March, according to an ABC member survey conducted from April 20 to May 3. The reading is 0.1 months higher than in April 2022.

The not-seasonally adjusted US construction unemployment rate dropped 0.4% in March 2023 from a year ago, down from 6% to 5.6%, according to a state-by-state analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data released today by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). Thirty-two states had lower unemployment rates over the same period, five were unchanged, and 13 were higher.

Cummins reports strong results for the first quarter of 2023. The first quarter revenues of US$8.5 billion increased 32% from the same quarter in 2022.
