In 2014, the accumulated national cement production lines in China hit 1,758, including part of the discontinued lines that have not been removed.
The designed clinker production capacity reached 1.77 billion tonnes, while accumulated capacity grew 4% as compared to 2013.
During the year, there were a total of 54 newly-added cement production lines in the country, adding a total production capacity of 70.3 million tonnes, stated the China Cement Association.
The capacity fell 25% or 24 million tonnes as compared to 2013. Of the total, there were two production lines with a daily production capacity of 2,000tonnes; four production lines with a daily production capacity of 4,000tonnes; 17 production lines that produce 2,500-4,000tonnes of cement each day, and 31 production lines with a daily production capacity of 5,000tonnes and above.
In terms of companies, Anhui Conch Cement; China National Building Material, and Kunming Iron & Steel Holding took the first three places in the new production list, accounting for 43% of the total.
